4 cup all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
4 tbsp lard or shortening
1 1/2 cup warm water
Instructions:
Combine dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. Cut in shortening. Make a
well in the center and add water, a small amount at a time, to form a
dough. Knead dough in bowl until smooth and elastic. Cover and wet

Ingredients:
6 10-inch flour tortillas
1 egg white
2 tbsp sesame oil
1/4 cup chives, chopped, or green onions, c, hopped
3 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted
Instructions:
Arrange 3 of the tortillas on work surface. Lightly beat together egg
white, 1 tb of the oil and salt; brush over both sides of tortillas.
Sprinkle with chives and 2 tb of the sesame seeds. Top with remaining

Fried Tortilla Chips
Ingredients:
8 each corn tortillas
1 salad oil
Instructions:
Arrange 8 corn tortillas in a stack and cut into 6 equal wedges.
Pour about 1/2 inch salad oil in a deep 2 or 3-quart pan and set on
medium-high to high heat. When oil is hot enough to make a piece of
tortilla sizzle, add tortilla pieces, a handful at a time, and stir
to separate.
Cook until crisp (1 to 1-1/2 minutes); lift from oil with slotted
spoon and drain on paper towels.

4 tsp lime juice
4 10 flour tortillas
Instructions:
Heat margarine until melted. Stir in lime peel and lime juice. Brush
